Agile and scrum
Agile is an umbrella term for iterative project management. One of the tendencies within Agile is SCRUM. The agile approach is a cyclical approach where you design in short iterations, build a (small) part, test and deliver to reach a better end result quickly. Agile is mainly used in IT projects, although there are also projects within the creative sector and the science sector that use agile elements.
The use of scrum boards
In the application of the scrum method, a scrum board is often used, also called a sprint board. On the scrum board the design tasks are visible in the form of user stories. The scrum board is the focal point during the daily standup- or scrum meeting. The scrum board gives the team, the product owner and scrum master insight into the progress of the work at any time.
Magnetic User Story Cards, durable alternative
User Story Cards are used to record the user story tasks on a scrum board. Normally these take the form of post-its, with the disadvantage that they lose their adhesive strength quickly and that the User Story Cards fall down from Scrum board when they are used for a long period. We have developed a durable alternative in the form of a magnetic User Story Card. It attaches to a ferrous surface (such as a scrum board), is writable with a whiteboard marker and completely erasable. Magnetic User Story Cards are available in the colours yellow, orange and green. They measure 7.5 cm by 7.5 cm and are 0.8 mm thick.
Present the sprint with a magnetic window
Magnetic windows can be used to present the sprint burndown. A magnetic window consists of a transparent plastic sheet with a coloured border and magnetic strips on the back. They can be used on any ferrous surface, including a scrum board. Magnetic windows are available in A3, A4 and A5 sizes and in the colours blue, yellow, grey, green, red, orange, and black.
